Magic Toast

ok, people on facebook have been inquiring as to what Magic Toast is... so i shall explain-

Ingredients~
2 slices of white bread
2 slices of mild cheese
1 slice of ham
sweet chili / BBQ sauce

Technique~
tear the ham into bits and arrange on the bread, then cover with the slice of cheese.
set your fan-assisted oven (NOT GRILL OR MICROWAVE) to 180c and cook for 12 minutes.  don't let the cheese bubble!
remove, add sweet chili / BBQ sauce to taste, cut diagonally and enjoy.

for those of you who think this is just cheese on toast, it's simply not.  just give it a go, you'll never make it any other way!

sneaker geek

the wanna-be cool kid inside of me has always wanted some cool skate trainers, but wasn't prepared to spend £60-odd on them.  on a recent scavenge in bargain heaven TK Max, i stumbled across these Vans-

for £20... sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet... i wasn't too fond of the gold jazz stripe at first but it's totally grown on me.  check out the snake skin detailing on the side-

...nice...

then, low and behold, i was passing through again and happened upon these Carey Hart signature DVs-

(for those of you not in the know, Carey Hart is a pro moto-x rider and on-off husband of P!nk-)

the shoes have got some tight little tattoo-style doodles down the side, showing lots of swallows and skulls and low-riders and things like that. just like on the man himself.  bitchin.

now i'm not gonna turn into one of those guys who only wears a pair of trainers once and then retires them, but i probably will get a bit pissed off when i mark them... indoor use only methinks...

and as for the price... £20 each?!  2 pairs of awesome shoeage for cheaper than a pair of discounted DCs?!  yes please.

and here's what i want it to look somethin like-

update, downdate

wow, i haven't wrote on this thing in feckin ages... bad times...

so, news... emmm got my angel tattoo done yesterday, pics to follow cos i can't be assed taking one right now, i've just had breakfast gimme a break.  Finished the RnB song for the studio this month with Tha Duke (http://www.tha-duke.com/) just need to get a demo version recorded so he can write his verse and then we're away.
while i await super-stardom's sparkly beckon call, i have to make do with digging the track (not digging the music track, like digging an actual track in the ground) for the sewer pipe from our new house... rock and roll...  its comin on really well though :)

hmm time for a cuppa i think.

aaaaah that's better :)

new mewzik

so at the minute i'm supposed to be writing an RnB track for the studio next month with Tha Duke, but there's so much good rock stuff out at the mo...  over the past little while i've picked these up-

Them Crooked Vultures on vinyl :D

Top class blues-rock from a random but inspired supergroup- John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin on bass, Dave Grohl from Nirvana / Foo Fighters on drums and Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age on vocals and guitar.  hopefully be worth a bit in a few years too, seeing as the 2002 debut LP from Audioslave (level with Velvet Revolver as the most hyped supergroup ever) is fetching upwards of £75...

sixx:AM

really lovin this right now, it's got some massively epic and epicly massive tracks.  based on the autobiographical diaries of Nikki Sixx when he was at his most self-destructively hedonistic, (which i read during the summer,) the album is equally as bipolar and impressive as the book, and the man himself.

Lostprophets new one

the betrayed is a definite improvement from their last effort, which was a bit too poppy for me even though i did quite enjoy it after a few listens.  still doesn't compare to their first 2 albums though...

which reminds me that i meant to do a "top 10 albums of the 00s" list...  here's my 1st draft, subject to change, in no particular order, picked simply because every track sounds amazin from the 1st listen to the millionth listen -

~ lostprophets -start something
~ neyo- in my own words
~ fallout boy - infinity on high
~ buckcherry - 15
~ john mayer - contiuum
~ daft punk - discovery
~ justin timberlake - justified
~ creed - weathered
~ audioslave - audioslave
~ blackstone cherry - blackstone cherry

sleeve idea

ok, this is only a really really rough idea, the angel is in the right place, and the stars are there already, and the lines are gonna be the background...  the treble clef wont be in that position, i just put it there... what do u think?!

taggery

Nikki tagged me for this little post task, so here it is-

1. Open the first photo album on your laptop/computer.

2. Scroll to the 10th Picture

3. Post the picture and tell the story behind it.

4. Tag 5 or more people.

seeing as i only have 6 followers (and i think one of them is me...) i only ask that everyone who reads this go and do it. cos its cool :)
 here's mine-

sorry about the awful quality, it's a screen-dump from a video of the very early stages of renovation of our barn conversion!
where the tractors sitting is now the kitchen, looking down into the living room and up to the mezzanine.  Theres a door and the kitchen window in the foreground of the picture now too, il get more pics up soon and let you see how it's coming on.
