new mewzik

so at the minute i'm supposed to be writing an RnB track for the studio next month with Tha Duke, but there's so much good rock stuff out at the mo...  over the past little while i've picked these up-

Them Crooked Vultures on vinyl :D

Top class blues-rock from a random but inspired supergroup- John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin on bass, Dave Grohl from Nirvana / Foo Fighters on drums and Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age on vocals and guitar.  hopefully be worth a bit in a few years too, seeing as the 2002 debut LP from Audioslave (level with Velvet Revolver as the most hyped supergroup ever) is fetching upwards of £75...

sixx:AM

really lovin this right now, it's got some massively epic and epicly massive tracks.  based on the autobiographical diaries of Nikki Sixx when he was at his most self-destructively hedonistic, (which i read during the summer,) the album is equally as bipolar and impressive as the book, and the man himself.

Lostprophets new one

the betrayed is a definite improvement from their last effort, which was a bit too poppy for me even though i did quite enjoy it after a few listens.  still doesn't compare to their first 2 albums though...

which reminds me that i meant to do a "top 10 albums of the 00s" list...  here's my 1st draft, subject to change, in no particular order, picked simply because every track sounds amazin from the 1st listen to the millionth listen -

~ lostprophets -start something
~ neyo- in my own words
~ fallout boy - infinity on high
~ buckcherry - 15
~ john mayer - contiuum
~ daft punk - discovery
~ justin timberlake - justified
~ creed - weathered
~ audioslave - audioslave
~ blackstone cherry - blackstone cherry
